Just as photography has moved from paper to digital, dental radiology is moving from conventional film to digital radiography.
Digital radiography involves the same X-ray emitter as conventional film, but the settings are changed so that the exposure time is shorter and the radiation dose reaching the patient is much lower.
The sensor on which the information is stored is flexible and easy to use, both for the radiology assistant and for the patient. After the X-ray is taken, the image is inserted into a scanner, and then is sent to the computer.
